Mirror Mirror

Even with the cliche saying that "no human is perfect" I still don't get why people normalize shame in failure and brokenness.

With the many experiences I have had in this life , 2023 has been my moment of epiphany with everything that has been happening especially to me .I mean, I can't be convinced otherwise that , In the shattered fragments of a broken mirror, I find a reflection of my true self, a mosaic of scars, triumphs, and the journey to holistic well-being.

Each shard tells a story, a testament to the battles fought and the strength gained not to forget  lessons learnt. As Oscar Wilde once said , "To love oneself is the beginning of a life-long romance," and within these fractured reflections, I embark on such a journey of self-love.

Unlike the polished surface of a flawless mirror, where perfection masks the depth within, the broken mirror reveals the authenticity of my existence.

The current world events remind me daily  that every individual on planet earth is inherently  susceptible  to vulnerability  and fragility , therefore no one was born immune to the experiences of breakage.

In the words of Leonard Cohen, "There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in." The cracks in this broken mirror, once perceived as fractures, now serve as conduits for the light of self-discovery. As I gaze upon the fractured glass, I see resilience etched in every crack. The imperfections, once deemed flaws, now stand as symbols of endurance. It's a paradoxical revelation – that in embracing brokenness, one can discover a wholeness that transcends superficial ideals. In  Rumi's words"The wound is the place where the light enters you ."

In the pursuit of holistic well-being, the reflection in the broken mirror becomes a guide. It reflects not just physical appearance but echoes ,the echoes of inner healing. Maya Angelou wisely noted, "We delight in the beauty of the butterfly but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty." The journey to wellness is indeed a metamorphosis, a transformation evident in the fractured but resilient mirror. Amidst the chaos of shattered reflections, there lies a profound truth – the beauty of embracing ysical self but also the acceptance of scars and vulnerabilities. It is a poetic dance between fragility and strength, a celebration of the healing power found within the cracks. To quote Frida Kahlo, "Feet, what do I need them for if I have wings to fly?"
